Welcome to Cats Protection Plymouth & Rame Branch

We’re here to support cats and kittens in Plymouth, covering postcodes: PL1, PL2, PL3, PL4, PL5, PL6, PL7, PL8, PL9, PL10, PL11, PL13, PL19, PL20, PL21,

Run by a small team of dedicated, cat-loving volunteers, we’re passionate about improving the lives of cats and kittens in Plymouth, working to find loving new homes for local cats in our care, offering support with neutering, and lost and found cats, as well as general education and awareness within the Plymouth area. We solely rely on the generosity and compassion of people just like you, so whether you adopt a cat from us, volunteer, donate something to the cause or purchase goodies from our shop, you are helping us care for the cats and kittens in our protection.  As well as financial support we welcome donations of any kind, including food, toys and bedding. We are eternally grateful for your continued support, the impact you make is huge!

Cats adoption in Plymouth

Could you provide a loving new home for a cat in Plymouth? During the process of adopting a cat from us, we’ll consider everything from your potential pet’s personality and how this fits with your lifestyle, to your home environment – creating the perfect match for both cat and owner and the start of a wonderful feline friendship.

Every cat or kitten adopted from Cats Protection is:

  • Given a nose to tail full health check
  • Flea and worm treated
  • Vaccinated
  • Blood tested if necessary
  • Microchipped
  • Neutered, if not already done, or if a young kitten, in which case a free voucher will be supplied for later neutering
  • Insured for four weeks

As our veterinary and care costs average £150 for each cat, we charge an adoption fee of £105 for a kitten up to 6 months old, and £85 for a cat.

Volunteer at Cats Protection Plymouth & Rame Branch

Without volunteers, Cats Protection Plymouth & Rame Branch simply wouldn't exist. Our amazing, friendly volunteers are a diverse group with a shared love of cats who fit volunteering around their home lives and personal commitments.

We're often looking to welcome new volunteers to join our brilliant team. As well as meeting great people and making an incredible difference to the cats of Plymouth, you'll enjoy practical benefits such as discounted pet insurance.

Trap, Neuter and Return (TNR) Volunteer

Unfortunately thousands of cats each year are abandoned or have strayed and rely on charities like Cats Protection for help. Becoming a TNR volunteer is one way you can make a real difference to cats in your local area. Our TNR volunteers help reduce the number of feral cats by raising awareness of our TNR programmes, setting humane traps to safely capture cats, taking them to local vets to be neutered, and hopefully returning them back to their territory. Across the UK, many cats are cared for by volunteer fosterers who provide a stable, safe and loving environment in their homes or in purpose-built pens in their gardens. They provide vital hands-on care and accommodation to stray or abandoned cats or cats whose owners could sadly no longer keep them, and are part of a dedicated team of volunteers committed to finding new homes for cats in need.
